Obsolete Tech terms
I came across this article about the obsolete technology terms that was a hot topic more than a decade ago. Summary of the obsolete terms from the article,
1. Intranet
2. Extranet
3. Web Surfing – Wow! Better stop using that.
4. Push Technology
5. Application Service Provider (ASP) - Not to confuse with .asp from Microsoft.
6. Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) - Lol! Reminds me of my Palm and HP iPaq.
7. Internet Telephony – OMG! That was my dissertation topic back in 2000.
8. Weblog – Hmm… short lifespan of this term. Blogging and blogger caught on as a more hype term.
9. Thin Client
10. Rboc - Totally beyond my time.
11. Long-Distance Call - Didn’t we just use IDD?
12. World Wide Web - I am not sure it obsolete yet. We just use “www” as part of typing any URL. But good to know what WWW stands for.
